In Pursuit of Beauty

I try to make my life a constant pursuit of beauty. My quest is a wholesome experience because I do not limit it to one particular sense. I want to see beauty, hear it, smell it, touch it, taste it, possess it completely, understand it, seep into its very veins, feel its core, accept it even if it is beyond my spectrum of aesthetics and place it in a special corner of my inner universe. It is a complete sensual experience. As part of it I’ve started researching on colours and this has opened up a finer perception and sensitivity to the subtle grading, shifting, constantly evolving world of colours. Yesterday I purchased these pretty thread bangles from a small shop nearby, and after coming back to my room I was fascinated by the way the limpid colours shone in the yellow light of the setting sun, and I used those colours to make a small ink and colour pencil book mark. It didn’t come out as well as I hope, but I still loved the colours. I’m placing it inside the novel Passport by Herta Muller which I’ll be returning to the library today.
